Trouble in Torque Town Orthodontic Finishing

Trouble shooting - an essential skill. During detailing and finishing experienced clinicians discover that it can be both difficult and time consuming to achieve correction of "overtorqued" maxillary anterior teeth. This applies to an upper lateral incisor that's been brought forward into the arch or an upper cuspid that's been aligned out of lingual cross-bite. In either case without correction the final anterior esthetic balance will be unacceptable. In fact, the cause of the problem may be with the straight-wire "pre-adjusted" appliance. Using simple mechanics (nothing new to buy) this 20 minute clinical presentation demonstrates a simple, effective and one step "fix" for this frustrating problem.

Learning objectives:

- How subtractive forces cause a problem with correction.
- How to create simple additive forces which will fix the problem.
- The use of specific arch wires and ligation for maximum effect.
- Accurate treatment times
- Simplified trouble shooting
- Clear, hands-on demonstrations
